You install a disk on a desktop’s DVD drive. Then you can use your MacBook Air’s Remote Disc function to take over the DVD drive and install software into the MacBook Air. It’s an innovation that may signal the beginning of the end of disk media.

Now, you can preview and rent videos using Apple TV alone. Don't lose faith, those of you that have already purchased an Apple TV. Your model just needs a "free" software and firmware upgrade to use all the new features.

In one of the first such studies, 90% of 200 owners said they were "extremely" or "very" satisfied with their phone. And 85% said they are "extremely" or "very" likely to recommend the device to others, says the online survey conducted and paid for by market researcher Interpret of Santa Monica, Calif. The firm surveyed 1,000 cellphone users July 6-10.

Lightspeed Research surveyed 39,000 people on its US online panel in the days following the launch of the device on 29 June - and the research findings are staggering.
Thirty-two per cent of those surveyed who do not currently own an iPhone stated that they do intend to purchase one, with 8 per cent planning to purchase in the next three months and 22 per cent planning to purchase "some time in the future", the researchers said.

ProductsOnly those that have been living in a parallel universe might be unaware of the impact the iPhone has had on telcommunicatons these last two weeks. On a scale of 1-10 that Apple would pull off the launch and introduce a product that lived up to the months of hype I gave it a 9. Boy was I in for a shock. They came out swinging with a 20 on my scale. Everything was as advertised. The product; the interface; the whole enchilada. Kudo's to the engineers at Apple for burning the midnight oil on our behalf.
